GRAMMY AWARDS 2008: per il metal vincono Slayer e Foo Fighters (...ed un elenco di tutte le altre categorie)

Si è appena conclusa la cinquantesima edizione dei Grammy Awards, tenutasi come sempre allo Staples Center di Los Angeles. I vincitori delle categorie a noi più care (metal, hard rock, strumentale/rock) sono stati: Best Hard Rock Performance
FOO FIGHTERS per "The Pretender" (nominati: Evanescence, Ozzy Osbourne, Queens Of The Stone Age, Tool)
Best Metal Performance
SLAYER per "Final Six" (nominati: As I Lay Dying, King Diamond, Machine Head, Shadows Fall)
Best Rock Instrumental Performance
BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN per la cover di "Once Upon A Time In The West" di Ennio Morricone (nominati: Metallica, Rush, Joe Satriani, Steve Vai)
Commenti personali a caldo: la vittoria dei Foo Fighters ci sta, quella degli Slayer (la seconda consecutiva!) sa un po' di truffa, visto che la canzone con cui hanno vinto è contenuta nella "special edition" uscita nel 2007, di un album uscito invece nel 2006. Gli altri nominati metal erano deboli e troppo metalcore, avrebbero dovuto vincere i Machine Head a questo punto. La vittoria di Springsteen come chitarrista su Rush, Satriani, Vai, e anche Metallica, è meglio non commentarla, è una bestemmia già di per sè, tenendo anche conto che ha vinto grazie ad una cover di "Il Buono Il Brutto e Il Cattivo" di Morricone, manco roba sua.

Un gruppo del calibro degli Slayer non dovrebbe mai prendere parte a questi avvenimenti.Per fortuna che dal punto di vista musicale non si sono ancora venduti.
